Welcome back to another exciting year at Swanton High School.

As I begin my second year as Principal, I want to thank you for the trust and support you’ve shown me throughout my first year in this role. Together, we’ve laid the foundation for something truly special, and I couldn’t be more energized about the road ahead. At Swanton High School, we are committed to creating a culture that connects, trusts, and inspires, a place where students are seen, supported, and pushed to reach their highest potential. We are thrilled to welcome several outstanding educators to the Bulldog team this year. Mr. Matt Horen joins us as our new Assistant Principal. Mr. Horen brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep understanding of instructional coaching. His passion for student growth and staff development makes him a perfect fit for our vision at SHS. Joining our Math Department is Mr. Bruce Smith, who brings with him a strong background in teaching and a student-centered approach to instruction. In our English Language Arts Department, we welcome Mrs. Tomitha Kissling, who will be replacing Mr. Eppert. Mrs. Kissling brings a fresh energy to the classroom and a love for literature that will no doubt inspire our students.

Swanton High School continues to grow and evolve in ways that offer students an education that is relevant, innovative, and personalized. This year, we are excited to introduce several new classes that expand opportunities in career pathways, the arts, and core academics. We’ve also launched our new Success Center Lab, a dedicated space for students taking College Credit Plus (CCP) courses. This space mirrors a college lab and is designed to support independence, focus, and academic success. In addition, we’ve begun the first phase of our STEAM Lab, which our Technology Department is carefully developing to bring hands-on, 21st-century learning experiences to life.

As always, SHS remains a one-to-one building, with every student using a Chromebook to support their learning. Our staff is dedicated not only to academic excellence but to helping students become responsible, respectful, and ready—values that define our school culture.

We believe that education is a team effort. Families, staff, students, and the community all play vital roles in shaping the future of our school. Your partnership is not only welcomed—it’s essential. Together, we will continue to build a school where every student is known, challenged, and celebrated.

I am proud to lead Swanton High School and look forward to seeing what this new year brings. Let’s make it another unforgettable year.

As always, Go Bulldogs.
Sincerely,

Anthony J. Menna
Principal, Swanton High School
